Strategy Product Manager

Your role:

  • To lead and deliver Strategy Technology projects, ensuring that project control is sound, and solutions are designed to meet customer needs and achieve Aer Lingus’s business objectives

  • Develop and produce routine and ad hoc project reporting including reports suitable for Executive review
  • Work closely with the Finance Business Partner and Technology project managers to track progress
  • Overseeing the development of the project and ensuring that team members are carrying out their tasks efficiently while upholding the company’s standards
  • Draft new and improve existing project portfolio management policies and processes

Your qualifications and key criteria

To be considered for the role of Strategy Product Manager (Specialist 1), candidates must meet the following:

  • Relevant 3rd level qualification or equivalent (Degree in an Engineering or a Technology related field would be preferable)
  • 6-years of experience in portfolio management with a track record of delivering complex of Technology projects
  • Management of multiple and cross-functional stakeholders, internal and external up to executive level
  • Makes effective decisions backed by compelling, evidenced and well-articulated arguments
  • Sound commercial and business understanding, particularly in an airline environment

Mobile Software Engineering Lead -Remote Working Opportunity

Purpose of role

Finance Systems Specialist

Your role

  • Ensure the delivery of essential day-to-day finance systems administration requirements such as running schedules, COA updates, approval hierarchy maintenance and updating Fuel and Airport master files etc. are performed within agreed timeframes to defined quality standards
  • Support Cognos 8 BI reporting for Finance and migration of reports to a new reporting tool e.g. Tableau
  • Monitor and investigate on incidents raised to the Web Finance support team by finance users to ensure timely resolution, use of accounting knowledge to quickly resolve

AMP & Reliability Manager

Your role

  • Lead the AMP and Reliability Team to ensure continuing airworthiness of A320CEO, A321NEO, A330 fleets and aircraft operating on the Aer Lingus UK AOC.
  • Optimise maintenance inspection and check intervals.
  • Engage with other IAG Opcos on Reliability data sharing and best practices.
  • Liaise with Aer Lingus UK CAMO staff as required to support the management of the Aer Lingus UK registered aircraft.
  • Ensure timely submission of AMPs to the Irish Aviation Authority and the Civil Aviation Authority (Aer Lingus UK registered aircraft).
  • Ensure ALS (all parts) revisions and variations are reviewed and actioned appropriately within the specified time limits.
  • Ensure AMP and Reliability related actions from line maintenance morning meetings are resolved and appropriately communicated.
  • Manage the performance of the AMP & Reliability team, including EASA human factors principles and ensure adequate resource availability to meet business needs.
  • Distribute workload appropriately amongst the AMP & Reliability team.
  • Ensure annual AMP effectiveness reviews are conducted as per Aer Lingus procedures and regulatory requirements, and the outcomes are considered for implementation into the respective AMP.  
  • Ensuring A321-253NX and A330 ETOPS manuals remain current.
  • Promoting safety culture; hazard reporting, including self-reporting.
  • Timely closure of AMP & Reliability related non-conformances from the quality system.
  • Responsible for timely delivery of AMP and Reliability related projects, within budget.
  • Reporting all of significant issues to Head of Technical Services.  
  • Continuously update AMP procedures, the A320 Family and A330 AMPs themselves, the Aer Lingus Reliability Manual, to reflect good practise, IOSA, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide support as necessary to ensure that Joint Procedure Manuals (JPM) are updated, to include contracted Engineering Services Provider (Lufthansa), on AMP, Reliability, and ETOPS related matters.

Your qualifications and key criteria:

To be considered for the role of AMP & Reliability Manager candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Engineering Degree (NFQ Level 8, 2:1 or better) or Part 66 Licensed Engineer.
  • Awareness of challenges faced by other M&E departments and a desire to support all,  with ability to effectively communicate to reach a common goal of safety, reliability (TDR and aircraft availability) and reduction of Non-Fuel Unit Cost (NFUC).  
  • Ability to lead, manage and motivate a team.
  • Thorough understanding of Maintenance Programs, Reliability Programs, and MSG-3 principles.
  • Excellent communication skills with experience in communicating with external and internal stakeholders including senior management.
  • Ability to manage/resolve conflict.
  • Proven decision making skills.
  • At least three years Part “M” experience on Airbus aircraft.
  • General Familiarisation or Type Course on A320 or A330 family aircraft.

Fleet Management & Contracts Specialist

Your role:

  • Support management of all aircraft operating leases (to include dry/damp/wet leases, commencement, management and expiry), aircraft financing, purchase agreements and sale agreements.
  • Project management of aircraft acquisition, leasing and disposal RFI/RFP processes – drafting, issuance, bid evaluation, recommendation and implementation.
  • Control and delivery of required aircraft specifications, including modification programmes and lease expiry redeliveries.
  • Responsibility, management and supervisions of significant fleet modification and upgrade projects, ensuring on-time and on budget execution.
  • Support the Fleet Planning and Aircraft Analysis Specialist on the on-going evaluation of the relative economics, performance and product characteristics of a range of aircraft types. Aircraft choices and selection have a very significant bearing on the operating cost structure of the Company – ownership costs represent approximately 10% of total airline operating costs.
  • Development of analytical/financial evaluations and business cases for the Aer Lingus and IAG Executive Board, including but not limited to aircraft acquisition, disposal, financing and technical enhancements.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with OEMs, lessors, other carriers, appraisers and the wider aircraft/airline industry.
  • Continuous monitoring of aircraft markets and values for opportunities and risks.
  • The Fleet Management Specialist will need to work very closely with the Maintenance, Engineering and Finance Business Control teams. Providing insight to Director/Head to assist in decisions for fleet management and implementation, delivering the capacity required by the corporate strategic plan at the lowest cost and commercial risk while managing and optimising all the components of aircraft ownership costs. 
  • Elaborate briefings and presentations of fleet options, commercial terms, project updates and recommendation for Executive decision process.
  • Managing the relationships with all internal stakeholders including Maintenance & Engineering, Operations, Finance/Treasury, Legal and IAG colleagues to ensure that fleet strategy tasks are clearly identified to contributors and thus implemented on time and on budget.
  •  Representing Aer Lingus at aircraft fleet and leasing industry events and seminars.

  • 3rd level qualification in Aerospace Engineering or Business and/or a proven track record in a business, engineering or related disciplines.
  • 1-2years Post Qualification Experience in a similar role within an airline, lessor, OEM or engineering company.
  • Previous experience in contract negotiations, management and drafting is desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build and maintain positive working relationships (both internal and external).
